Born in the womb of Mama Liberia, “It’s A She” traverses geographical boundaries gripping the reader’s mind, and emotions taking you through a journey of power, loss, determination, failure, and the author’s favorite words persistence and resilience.
Rise
In 2012, I found myself overwhelmed by an insistent desire, a dream to contribute to youth empowerment in my country Liberia. Beyond my professional portfolio as a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Specialist, I set out to write a book that would answer the many questions young Liberians had and continually approached me on about life. Sure, there were many self-help resources on the market that anyone could purchase; but our socioeconomics and geo-politics at the time were worlds apart from the western countries where most of those books were written.
